Department Payroll Representative Update Sessions

The week of May 19th, Corporate Payroll Services will be conducting its semi-annual payroll update for all Department Payroll Representatives.

The purpose of the semi-annual update is to keep all Department Representatives up-to-date with key information necessary to accurately execute their payroll responsibilities. Topics to be included in the sessions include the following:

  • Fiscal Year End Reminders - reminders about iForms and the impact of Salary Setting and Positions Reclassifications on Rate Changes.
  • Review of changes to the Exempt and Nonexempt iForm Terminations.
  • Introduction of new ReportXpress forms and organizational key changes for the Health System.
  • Update on the submission of prior period time reports.
  • Comprehensive review of Duke@Work - participation numbers, reports to run, steps for discontinuing statements for a group, open enrollment coming in Fall 2008.
  • Update on overpayments and departmental responsibilities in collecting overpayments.
  • Appropriate use of Pay Exceptions.
  • Change to payroll processes - Secondary positions, tax forms needed for new hires, and direct deposit for employees without social security numbers.
  • New compliance requirements.
  • Introduction of the HR/Payroll Certification offered by Financial Services.
  • Case studies to practice and discuss key concepts.

Corporate Payroll Services will offer separate sessions for the University, School of Medicine, and DUHS.
