Using wwwActiveStaffer to Track Your Education
 |
When you log into wwwActiveStaffer , you now have the
option to view education classes that are available to you
within the health system. You can also print out a record
of your education history at Duke.
First, you will notice a difference on the left hand tool bar. Under requests, you can now choose Class or CBT. There is also a new button, called Ed Summary. |
Request a Class
To request a class, click on Class on the left hand tool bar. You can enter a course number (if you know it) in the first field, use the drop down arrow to find a specific course, or leave this field blank. If you enter the course number, you must use all CAPS. The start date will fill in automatically, but you can change it to further in the future. It is required that you enter an end date. If you don't use all CAPS on the course number and/or you don't enter an end date, you will not return any results in your search. Click OK. A list of classes that are being offered during that time frame will appear.
If you can self enroll on line, you will see a check box next to the class. Click in the box, scroll to the bottom of the list, and click APPLY. An ED will appear on your ActiveStaffer schedule to alert your manager that you would like to take a class that day. However, if the manager schedules you to work, it is YOUR responsibility to either go online and remove yourself from the class, or to call the sponsoring department and cancel your enrollment. A manager does not have to allow you to go to the class if you are needed to work.

If the check box is grayed out you will need to call the Education Services department sponsoring the class to register or be put on the waiting list.
Remove Yourself From a Class
To remove yourself from a class, return to the Notifications screen. The class will be listed under your upcoming classes. Click on the name of the class. A detail box will appear. Click the Delete button to take yourself out of the class. If you have problems, call the sponsoring department to ask to cancel the class.

Viewing Your Educational History
You can also click on the Ed Summary button on the left hand tool bar to see a list of your education history. This includes classes that you did not complete, but were registered for. At the bottom of the list is the phrase "View Education Transaction History " This will take you to a printable version of your Educational Transcript. Questions about your transcript should be directed to your Education Services department.
