E-Commerce @ Duke
The Electronic Commerce (E-Commerce) office provides resources for secure and convenient methods to accept credit card and electronic check payments for the purchase of various goods and services, conference registrations, donations, and more. The E-Commerce office serves as the central authority for all credit card processing and the related compliance activities. With an increasing number of Duke departments wishing to process payments, we must ensure we're providing secure access and controlling our costs across the University. It is in Duke's best interest to facilitate the transfer of e-commerce transactions through implementing enterprise-wide policies and procedures, assuring transactions are consistent with Duke's status as a tax-exempt research and educational institution.
The E-Commerce office has developed central processes and policies to provide the functionality and security required to manage various types of transactions at Duke, including web-based and/or traditional processes. Departments desiring to accept credit cards or electronic checks as a form of payment should contact the E-Commerce office to discuss their business need. All departments who are approved for accepting credit cards and/or electronic checks as a form of payment must comply with all Duke E-Commerce policies described on this website.
